教室を開講して約半年。初の英検合格者が出ました！合格おめでとう！
A half year has passed since our classroom opened. Now we have a student who passed the Eiken exam . Congratulations on passing !
この4月から小学1年生となり、小学1年生コースのレギュラーとスーパーに通ってくれているYukiくんです。今年10月に4級と5級のダブル受験をし、見事合格しました！
This is Yuki, who is the 1st grade elementary student and has taken regular and super lessons at our classroom. He took the 4th and the 5th grade of Eiken exam and passed both.
英検4級や5級に合格するためには、まず英文を読めるということが必須条件になります。中学1～2年生レベルです。
To pass the 4th and 5th grade, we need to read English, which Engish level is the 1st and 2nd grade of junior high school.
Yukiくんはインターナショナルプレスクールに通っていたため、日常英会話をすることができ、4級レベルの文法も身に付いています。それなら合格して当たり前とお思いでしょうか？いえいえ、4月の時点でYukiくんは簡単な英単語も読むことができなかったのです。つまり半年で読む力を付けたことになります。
As Yuki went to an international preschool, he can speak English and know the grammar 4th grade. Do you think it's natural for him to pass? Not at all! In Apr. he couldn't read even a common English word. That means he's got the ability to read in 6 months.
もちろん、週1回のレッスンに通うだけでは力はつきません。必要なのは、毎回のレッスンで1週間分の家庭学習の成果を見せることができ、その学習を継続できることです。英語は接触量。毎日接した分だけ比例して力が付きます。
Of course, 1 lesson par week is not enough. All you need is to show the learning outcomes of the week at every lessons and to continue studying at home. English ability is proportional to the time of intake.
もともと学習能力の高いYukiくんですが、新1年生で自律学習の習慣は身に付いていない年齢です。机に向かうところからのスタートで、これは簡単なことではありません。読み書き強化のため、追加の宿題を出しましたが、年齢的にまだ大変かな？と思いました。ところが、ご家族の励ましや学習しやすい環境づくりのサポートがあり、宿題を完璧にこなしてきているのです。
Though Yuki is a talented boy, he is still the 1st grade of elementary school and had no habit to study at home. The first thing he needed to do is to sit at the desk and it's hard for children of his age. To strengthen the ability to read and write, I added extra homework . I thought it's a little hard for his age. But, he has done his homework perfectly until today with his family's encouragement and support of making good environment to study.
英語を教えるのは簡単ですが、自律学習の習慣を子ども達に身に着けさせることは年齢が低い程、大変なことです。でも、習慣づけ、学習を継続し、半年間という短い間で飛躍的な力を付け、見事合格したのです。これは、Yukiくんの能力や努力に加え、保護者の方の根気強い補助があったからに他なりません。本当によく頑張られたと思います！
It's easy to teach English but it's really hard to let children have the habit of studying by himself. But he's got, kept studying , got the dramatic ability in a short period and passed! That's because of not only Yuki's ability and effort but also his family's persevering assistance. They really did their best.
インターナショナルプレスクールに通っていなくても、ＥＣＣジュニアに幼少期から通っている子ども達は小学校卒業までに英検に挑戦し、合格することができます。各種英語検定試験の中でも英検は4技能の力が必要とされるバランスの良い検定で、取得することで進学や受験で優遇されます。
Though not having been to an international preschool, many students at ECC Junior have passed Eiken before they graduate from elementary schools. Eiken has a good balance to measure English 4 abilities and we can get much benefit by passing.
ECCジュニア八千代台北子供の森教室でも、Yukiくんに続いて、沢山の子ども達が英検に挑戦し、達成感や自信を感じられるよう、楽しく、でもしっかりと身に付く英語を目指していきたいと再確認しました！ おめでとう, Yuki!!
